Charge the battery and do a load test. Should be around 12-12.6 V charged. Hook it up, let the car run for about 10 minutes, and test the battery while the car is on. If the alternator is working, it’ll be around 13-15V. Bad alternator means the battery doesn’t charge while it’s running.

You can have someone jump you drive it to a local part store they can check your battery for you . Another thing you can try is get your car started then while its running pull off your negative battery terminal while its running its the black one if your car dies then it’s your alternator that is a pain but theses our some suggestions good luck

Answer by Treydon

Take it to an Interstate battery. There we will do a load test to see if its capable of holding a load at the appropriate cold cranking amps. You need to make sure it is fully charged, if it is dead I recommend putting on a trickle charger or something of that sort to charge it. It could also possibly be an alternator issue, if your alternator is working it should read over 13 volts on the load tester, if the battery cannot hold the appropriate cold cranking amps its time for a new battery. Good luck bud!
